Giant Puffballs

I had never heard of these mushrooms before, but suddenly this year they’re everywhere. They’re as big as volleyballs and supposedly edible, though I can’t imagine many things that look less appetizing.

  3. Yes, they are quite edible. Not a strong mushroomy flavor, you will need lots of butter and seasoning. I’ve eaten many a puffball and still here to tell the tale.
