Bring it on down to Vegan Fest!

Yesterday Bill and I attended Vegan Fest. It was great to get to chow down on all kinds of tasty food without worrying about what might be lurking inside. It was also pretty heartwarming to be surrounded by people who love and care about animals. We tried tasty vegan spring rolls from Thai Noodles, delicious chips and salsa from Texas Tubb’s Taco Palace, but the standout treat of the day was the chocolate cake with raspberry coulis from Liliana’s. Chef Dave was there and he was incredibly nice, telling us the story of how Liliana’s is named after his adorable little daughter (we also got to see her) and when I ate the entire piece of chocolate cake (I could not help myself), he insisted on giving Bill his own piece, on the house. We left with a copy of Liliana’s extensive vegetarian menu, and we’re looking forward to stopping in soon for jazz, wine, and some of their specialties like mushroom risotto or feta potato cakes. Vegan Fest earns itself FIVE CARROTS! YAY FOR VEGAN FEST!
